The American Computer Barrel Racing Association was established in 1985 to fulfill the need of a system which would enable people to compete in barrel racing against horses of their own skill level. In an effort to achieve fair competition, the ACBRA adopted a computerized category system, ranking horses by lifetime barrel racing earnings.
The results were very successful, and the association went from 45 members in 1985 to 540+ members in 2014.
American Computer Barrel Racing Associaiton is celebrating over 30 years of competitive Barrel Racing.
